Corey Brown began creating comics during lockdown, using Procreate on his iPad to make playful one-page stories for his nieces and nephews in New Zealand. Their suggestions inspired longer adventures, including The Meeting of Wonderlationship, Valiant and the Oracle, and Valiant and the Space Dog, where he applied his visual effects background to bring the art to life. His latest comic, Valiant and the Temple of the Cat, developed with his nephew, takes the characters on a wild journey to ancient Egypt and reflects how both his storytelling and craft have grown.

Originally from Dunedin, New Zealand, Corey has called many cities home. He studied fine art, specializing in photography, and currently lives in Brooklyn, NY. He has worked as a VFX artist since 1996 and when not working, he has a second full-time job caring for his 2 year old.
