John Bell is a world-renowned artist and designer whose work has shaped some of the most iconic films, games, and brands of the past 25 years. With a BA in Transportation Design from Art Center College of Design, he began his career at General Motors and Atari Games before joining George Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic, where he contributed to landmark films including Back to the Future II & III (earning an Academy Award nomination and BAFTA win), Jurassic Park, Men in Black, and Mission: Impossible. His creative reach extends beyond film into advertising, product design, and concept art for video games such as Dead Space and The Godfather II, as well as animated features like Cars and ANTZ.
Bell’s portfolio reflects a passion for innovation across disciplines, with clients including Nike, BMW, SONY Animation, Illumination Entertainment, and Hasbro. His personal artwork has been exhibited in galleries nationwide and featured in Juxtapoz magazine and on ESPN. Now based in Bend, Oregon, he continues to explore new creative frontiers, blending professional commissions with personal artistic pursuits.
