Mindy Dubin’s work explores the tension between the organic forms of the natural world and the structured chaos of intricate hand-drawn linework. Inspired by patterns in leaves, the texture of bark, and the fluidity of the human body, she transforms the familiar into an abstracted visual language. Repetition, variation, and error become her playground, where the everyday shifts into something both recognizable and abstract.
While her commercial work in digital media often operates at a micro scale with precise detail, her ink drawings return her to physicality. The human hand introduces imperfection, and it is within these deviations that the heart of the work resides. These imperfections invite closer engagement, fostering a connection that feels both intimate and expansive.
Dubin lives and works in New York City, balancing her art practice with freelance design and visual effects work for film and television. She holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University.
