Joe Ceballos is a Los Angeles–born artist and art director based in the San Francisco Bay Area. After earning a BFA in Illustration from ArtCenter College of Design, he built a career in visual effects, creating realistic environments and concept designs for feature films, television, and interactive media. Alongside his work in entertainment, he is an adjunct professor at California College of the Arts.

Working primarily in oil, Joe blends realism and abstraction through a foundation of traditional technique, informed by his experience in visual storytelling. His paintings have been featured in juried exhibitions with Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, Portrait Society of America, MarinMOCA, and Marin Society of Artists. A Signature Member of Oil Painters of America, Joe was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2022 for his contributions to visual effects.
